Simple foods to prevent cancer

Foods found in most homes that protect against cancer

It is known that diet plays an essential role in preventing or developing cancer.  Experts say that increasing consumption of certain foods can help reduce the risk of developing “modern disease” and prevent it.

The latest research has shown that more than 50 percent of all cancer diagnoses and deaths can be prevented, along with 30 percent of all cancer cases linked to the foods we eat.

She explained that there are some foods that contain essential nutrients (proteins, carbohydrates, and fats) and health-promoting compounds, which makes them reduce the risk of diseases, especially cancer.

The most important of these foods are:

olive oil:

Olive oil is primarily associated with a lower risk of death from cardiovascular disease.

A study published in PLOS One this year found that olive oil contributed to a 31 percent lower risk of cancer.

A strong protective effect of olive oil has been observed against cancer of the breast, digestive system, respiratory system and urinary tract.

avocado:

Animal studies have shown that avocado extracts can destroy or inhibit the growth of various types of cancer cells, including breast, colon, liver, lungs, larynx, leukemia, esophagus, mouth, and ovaries.

According to a 2019 review, a variety of phytochemicals and antioxidants found in avocados may collectively be responsible for fighting cancer.

the banana:

Bananas are a treasure trove of fiber and essential nutrients, especially B vitamins, potassium and magnesium.

It is also considered a rich source of antioxidants, specifically the flavonoids catechin and quercetin.

These antioxidants strengthen cellular defense mechanisms, forming an immune wall against cancer.

Bananas also contain other compounds (such as oleic acid and gamma-sitosterol), which studies have shown to inhibit the growth of pancreatic cells and breast cancer cells.

Cinnamon:

Cinnamon is known for its ability to lower blood sugar levels.

A review of studies published in 2018 demonstrated that cinnamon and its compounds are highly effective in fighting tumors.

Cinnamon extracts work to prevent cancer at different stages of infection, fighting it by preventing carcinogenesis (the initiation of cancer) and by inhibiting metastasis (the spread of cancer cells to other parts of the body).

Black pepper:

Described as the “king of spices,” black pepper is commonly used in traditional medicine to treat menstrual problems and disorders of the ears, nose, and throat.

It is known for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, and has anti-cancer effects.

the Garlic:

Garlic contains a high percentage of antioxidants, which are able to stop the growth of cancer cells, as a result of their direct intervention on DNA and its rapid repair, which contributes to killing cancer cells.

Many studies have linked eating garlic to the prevention of stomach, colorectal, and pancreatic cancer, as well as reducing the risk of breast cancer.

tomatoes:

Tomatoes are distinguished by their red color. This color contains powerful antioxidants, such as lycopene. Studies have found that a diet rich in lycopene reduces the risk of developing certain types of cancer, most notably prostate cancer, as well as preventing the formation of cancerous tumors in the uterus and lungs.
